Curated by Nada Shabout, the exhibition presents artworks and archive material that set out the activities of the Baghdad Modern Art Group. Jewad Selim and Shakir Hassan Al Said started the group in 1951, and it grew to include many leading Iraqi artists and architects.
The museum says no earlier exhibition or publication has looked in depth at the group's history. Entry to the exhibition is free with museum admission, and Mathaf runs related story time and workshop sessions.
